"Forget trendy designer labels. Jeans, a sweater or a t-shirt worn under a jacket that seems welded to you. When it's just right, when you don't see the effort, it's irresistible." - Emmanuelle Alt

Okay. New obsession. My girl crush of the moment is Emmanuelle Alt, the fashion director for Paris Vogue (swoon). I'm officially infatuated with her and her flawless style. She said it best, you can't put a price on effortlessness. She layers with perfection and always looks like she ran out the door without a moment's thought, but still seems to be completely put together. That's her daughter with the striped tee in the last photo! A little fashionista in the making, j'adore.

Can't get over this party table. Makes me want to celebrate something right this second.

I love photographer Ryan Brenizer's artistic engagement shot of "Adam and Chastity" . Lovely and oh so romantic!

gloves in his pocket...

A forgotten piece of style that needs to be resurrected immediately. I also am a sucker for pocket squares, cuff links, and vests insides suits a la Chuck Bass. Roaring 20's? Come back please.

headboards

I've got a crush on colored headboards, they pull every element of a room together. I'm stalking a white one online for me personally. That and a mini chandelier. I can't wait to make over my room!

loveydovey

Adore these nicknacks. It's the little things that count, so why not make them as charming as possible?

clever clever

Seriously Asians are so smart (not to toot my own horn or anything). But there are so many little inventions here that are so handy! It's like every moment you had when you were like "Oh it would be so useful if they just made _____ for _____. Or put _______ into _____" but no one ever thought to put it into action, here they have! I've made a laundry list of cool things America seriously needs to consider but here's an example: At restaurants they shrank tissue paper into these tiny tables on a plate. The customer adds water. Then poof! Instant wet hand wipes that you use before every meal. And don't create a mess because they're tiny and cute. I've stolen a sample so I can bring them back and claim that I invented it on my own. A fall back plan on how I am going to become a millionaire.
Other little wonders that I can think of right now:
- Warmed toilet seats (everywhere, even in restaurants and malls). My bum has been nice and toasty the whole time here!
- Automatic toilet seat covers. They're all about sanitation.
- Valeting cars has never been so easy. They put the car on a platform that they raise from the garage so it pops up when you're ready to leave. The attendant leaves your keys in the ignition for you so all you have to do is slip in and drive off.
- The supermarkets (kind of like walmarts) are four stories high and instead of having escalators and elevators, they made walking sidewalks that go diagonally to each floor so you can take your shopping cart!
- A bunch of other really cool stuff I can't remember right now.

seoul style

People here have serious style. Particularly business men (I'm talking tailoring to the t, and zero fear of bright colors or flamboyant ties) and young women. True, their style is completely out of the sphere of American style but it is chic nonetheless. I've tried to turn myself into a makeshift Scott Shuman, since I idolize him with no shame whatsoever, but I've found that snapping shots of random people is really awkward. Well at least if you're trying to do it all secretly like I have. All the people who I've stared at were walking much too quickly to sniper shoot them so until I get the cojones to ask them to stop these two pictures will have to do. I just adore the little grampy on top! Oh and the girls here? Their skin is like porcelain, it's unbelievable! I don't think I've seen one blemish since I've arrived, it's like no one here has pores.

cutest couple to exist. ever.

I die. I literally gasped out loud when I saw these photos by Sloan Photographers. As in I'm having trouble breathing right now, it's that gorgeous. And my heart is melting at the same time. This is officially the world's most adorable couple, there is no debate. The lighting, the composition, the angles, I love everything about every one of these photographs. I can't stop staring, I'm in utter bliss right now. Bliss!

sunroom

This room would be so serene for afternoon tea or reading your favorite novel, with the sunlight streaming in through those beautiful windows. Must get one of these for myself immediately. (Also must learn to live within my means...yeah neither of those are happening any time soon.)

oh olivia

The perfect early spring daytime outfit. Love her lightweight trench and killer decorative bib.

hellooo spring

It looks like my wishful thinking has paid off! Warm weather has finally followed warm thoughts. Today was the perfect weather: clear, sunny and brisk. Still needed a scarf and blazer but the bitter cold has gone away and it looks like spring has sprung. Happy. So I thought I'd celebrate by sharing these gorgeous Elle photoshoot featuring the ever glamorous Amber Valletta drinking in the golden sunshine of L.A. Not quite what it's like here but it's all relative.

flowers? for moi?

Stop by the Saipua website for pretty flowers and lovely inspiration! I went to a flower market with my mother and her best from high school, and it was outrageous. There were flowers upon flowers as far as the eye could see and it smelled heavenly.

a little folk village

So on our first day, jetlagged from a 13 hour flight, we were at a loss at what to do since we wanted something quick without too much energy required. My mom thought to take me to the last preserved Korean folk village, to get me in touch with my cultural roots and what not. It was kinda cool seeing how people lived back in the day, but I am just so unbelievably glad that i was not born in that quaint time. Simple, yes. But to be honest, I would trade in simplicity for working toilets and electricity any day. And I'm not even much of a gadget person. Nevertheless, it was fun and A good chance to bust Fred out. I first stopped at the wishing rock, you write your hopes, dreams, and prayers for your loved ones down on pieces of cloth and tie them to this sacred rope. So I did. Twice. I completely believe in superstition so I'm just waiting...any day now...

Yes, that white you see there is actual snow. It was chiilllly. Finally giving my winter wardrobe I acquired in Europe a test run.

That is honey. And this little man whipped it around so fast (in corn starch) with just his hands that it turned finer than human hair. In about 15 seconds. We thought it was cool so obviously we got suckered into purchasing the "candy" which was really peanuts in that honey hair stuff. Not as tasty as one would imagine but worth the show, since I'm determined now to pick up this skill before I come home.
