cake pops!

How precious are these? They would be perfect for valentine's day...or any day really.

Red Velvet Cake Balls
1 box red velvet cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)
1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz.)
1 package chocolate bark (regular or white chocolate)
wax paper

1. After cake is cooked and cooled completely, crumble into large bowl.
2. Mix thoroughly with 1 can cream cheese frosting. (It may be easier to use fingers to mix together, but be warned it will get messy.)
3. Roll mixture into quarter size balls and lay on cookie sheet. (Should make 45-50. You can get even more if you use a mini ice cream scooper, but I like to hand roll them.)
4. Chill for several hours. (You can speed this up by putting in the freezer.)
5. Melt chocolate in microwave per directions on package.
6. Roll balls in chocolate and lay on wax paper until firm. (Use a spoon to dip and roll in chocolate and then tap off extra.)

I also only melt a few pieces of chocolate bark at a time because it starts to cool and thicken. It’s easier to work with when it’s hot.

The ones pictured above used chocolate cake mix to substitute and some pink candy melts instead of the chocolate bark. And just to make them even a little cuter, stuck them on lollipop sticks…… Cakesicles anyone?

you're my number one

cause you're my number oneeee, i love this song by goldfrapp! ignore the video, she looks a little frightening but the song makes me so happy.

j.crew: spring has sprung

The new J.Crew catalog is out and I can’t stop staring at these stills. I love when they go on location, this year they shot in Lisbon, Portugal. I love love love how they mix their gorgeous clothes with the architecture and colors of a foreign city! Below, are some of my favorite shots… I MUST go to Lisbon immediately! It looks so wonderful, I think I found a new happy place.

Carefree, easy glamour is how I would classify this catalog. I'm weak in the knees, J.Crew you do it to me every time.

live

urban fairytale

This urban wedding is so glamorous and romantic, it took my breath away. The wedding was held at this iconic San Francisco hotel, which just happens to be celebrating it's 100 year anniversary. The attention to detail was incredible.

The cocktail hour followed the ceremony. The space was literally covered with candles. Table settings were glammed-up with gold linens, custom menus, satin napkins, and placecards, handwritten by the groom's mother.

After dinner, guests were invited to visit the candy bar.

presto pesto

Need a last minute gift or party favor? I love these cutie little jars at Crate & Barrel. They are 6 ounce size, and very affordable. Fill the jars with homemade pesto, using this recipe. One batch is enough to fill one of these jars.

Then apply your own label for a personal touch!

andy warhol

how cool would it be to own andy warhols to decorate your apartment with? dare to dream.
valentino has warhol's flowers hanging in his london apartmentGiancarlo Giammetti has Lenins in his Paris apartment. And an adorable puppy on his killer staircase.
Marilyn also hangs in a room designed by Todd Romano
Princess Marie-Chantal and family stand in front of her two Warhols (lucky), done during the teased hair craze in the 80's.

Elizabeth Taylor hangs in Todd Romano's apartment.

Warhol's iconic Campbell soup paintings hang in the dining hall (how appropriate) of the ever kitschy Kanye West.
My favorite! Jackie O. in a foyer in House&Garden. If I could have any Warhol I would definitely pick this one, hands down.

Diane Von Furstenburg with her multiple Warhols, in every residence.
Carolina Herrera still looks like a spitting image of her painting!

rachel zoe's home sweet home

first of all, the queen of clothes outdid herself for the golden globes and sag awards. kate hudson, jennifer gardner, zoe saldana. all of her clients looked impeccable. so its no surprise that her house in Hollywood is to DIE for. seriously, i DIE. it's a tad modern for my taste but that doesn't mean it's any less fabulous, completely furnished in Fendi Home. her little touches like her fashion coffee table books, fur throw, and clean cut look make it BANANAS. bless her tiny little soul.
