how to crawl out of a hole

i'm quite enjoying this spout of rain we've been having, it's refreshing to me but that's probably because i've finished my finals before everyone else and can relish it from the comfort of my couch. gloomy weather can make people feel a little blue so i thought this was an entirely appropriate time to share with you a list i found: how to crawl out of a hole

1. Go for a walk in the storm. (Wear brightly colored wellington boots.)

2. Book a ticket to your favorite place so you have something to look forward to.

3. Drink many cups of tea.

4. Don't listen to anyone who says you can't or shouldn't (or should).

5. Phone a friend and ask them how they are.

6. If you can't sleep, you might as well get up.

7. Keep a cat (or other furry animal) nearby at all times.

8. Paint your toenails ruby red.

9. Stop being nice, start being kind (not excluding yourself).

10. Allow yourself time to think about the next step without rush or distraction.

i like these tips from lolaisbeauty except for #7 because i'm terrified of cats (in my opinion, justly so. they are so conniving and unpredictable don't you think?) my favorite wellies of the moment are kate spade's randi boot, aren't they precious with their rubber bows? what a great way to brighten up a dreary day.

as for tea, i would suggest my favorite: mightyleaf tropical green tea. its a bit more expensive but worth every penny for the smell alone!
