Growing up watching every Disney movie ever made (yes, I still have all my VHS's and am hoarding a VCR much to my parents disappointment), I have very idealistic notions about love and life and see remnants of a strong belief in fairytales come true. Whether this is good or bad is still up for debate but I love these original photographs. Photographer Dina Goldstein decided to re-think their outcomes. What if Disney princesses didn't live happily ever after? "I began to imagine Disney's perfect princesses juxtaposed with real issues that were affecting women around me," she says, "such as illness, addiction and self-image issues."
