for modern pin-up girls

Marilyn Monroe, Bridget Bardot, and Jayne Mansfield were all classic pin up girls exuding femininity and glamour. And if some of you have forgotten, in the craze of boyfriend fit everything, Calla's Spring 2010 collection is here to remind us with ladylike shoes and unladylike hemlines. I personally have a penchant for that wear-with-everything bustier and was thrilled to see the resurgence of lingerie as outerwear, especially under sheer tops. Love it. I'm turning to Calla to fill my wardrobe, it's full of figure-flattering dresses in whimsical colors and pleated trousers that would go perfectly with last season's sweatshirts. But the real accompaniment to the pin-up-y collection that I'm really looking forward to acquiring? That braided, messy beehive of a bouffant. Is that the perfect Valentine's Day hair-do, or what? Pieces are available at Debut on 298 Mulberry Street New York, New York.
