floating vases

I love this Do It Yourself idea!  I'm amidst trying to put the finishing touches in our new apartment, it's amazing how empty it still looks, and I think this would look sweet in our dining nook. Very Anthropologie-esque.

flowers? for moi?

Stop by the Saipua website for pretty flowers and lovely inspiration! I went to a flower market with my mother and her best from high school, and it was outrageous. There were flowers upon flowers as far as the eye could see and it smelled heavenly.

bring me flowers

Fresh flowers always make such a difference in sprucing up a room. The fragrance, the look, the all around good feel, especially mixed with tiny tealights. I love these peonies,

linens & things

I've mentioned Emersonmade's flower pins once or twice before, because they are so flippin' cute! And because I'm infatuated with the glamorous owner, but I just found out that she's now making wedding bouquets. Even more darling! They would be a nice alternative because they're hand stitched from linen so they could be a keepsake from the day. I don't know how I feel about replacing a bouquet with them because I'm such a fan of fresh flowers (nothing beats the look and smell), but I do think that these would be lovely for boutineres for the groomsmen or for the flower girl!

flower power

Isn't this evening bag from J.Crew so romantic? The Flutter-Flower Clutch comes in Sheer Lilac or Brilliant Orange and is made of silk flowers and chiffon. For the lovely little lady in all of us!

catch the bouquet

This bridal bouquet is beautiful, the colors mix together seamlessly. Sarah & Nicolette teach a floral arranging class where girls can come and play with flowers in their studio, drinking bubbly and being fabulous. The next open class is about combining flowers and herbs in arrangements. And as a cherry on top, you get to plant a window box of herbs for your kitchen. This is arguably one of the best ways you'll ever spend a sunday afternoon! I'm sorry, but did I mention champagne? Right. Champagne.

a few of my favorite things

i'm trying to recuperate with some of my favorite things: flowers, a cup of tea, and bob dylan. i got a new tea flavor today- pomegrante raspberry green tea, and it's really hitting the spot (namely my sore throat) and is especially delicious with lemon juice squeezed in. pandora's been extra kind to me lately and has been giving me everything that i want. i haven't even had to skip a song once! it's like the music streaming gods are taking pity on me.

the cover of "lay lady lay" from the mr. & mrs. smith soundtrack is a slice of heaven. give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.

*update: okay fine, i felt like a phony so i decided to tell the truth, there are no flowers. i only wish.

because every woman loves flowers

i'm sure by now you've heard of Emerson Made, the delightful company that makes these handmade linen and flower brooches. you only have to be confident enough to let them brighten up any coat, button-down, cardigan, or sweater.

here is the stylish owner and her dashing husband (note the smaller version he's sporting on his lapel, for those of you wary of making such an over-sized statement), having a snow brunch with hot tea and toast. aren't they just a darling couple?

Another way to wear faux fowers is at the waist, as seen in Paris at Rochas Spring 2010 collection. a little more discreet and tres chic! also, can't get enough of the saffron and peach they showed.
