chanel spring 2010

karl lagerfeld, the genius that he is, showed off his spring 2010 line for chanel making fashion fun again in a way only he can.
he transformed a huge barn for his runway, making it completely rustic themed with models strutting their stuff with pieces of hay caught in their hair. smirks and swagger as if they had been caught with the stable boy.
it was couture meets country in lagerfelds new inspired line, filled with aprons, peasant prints, basketweaves, and the iconic interlocking c's made of wood. the theme didn't throw off the luxury brand's message: fashion is worth the price.

their house tweed suits and fluttery blouses made appearances in unexpected ways, masterfully mixing classicism with the hottest trends- neutrals, lace, and sheer. always ladylike and demure but delightfully youthful! oh chanel, you bring the words "if only" to mind.
